How Atlas works
The Competitive Loop
Four steps. One goal. Own more road than anyone else.
Ride real roads
Record from your iPhone or Apple Watch, or sync from Garmin, Wahoo, Hammerhead and COROS. Your local roads become the course.
Claim routes
Close a loop faster than anyone else and the roads inside it are yours. Claims last 45 days and start to decay after 30 days unless you ride them again.
Compete & defend
Share a road with a rival and a 48-hour battle begins. Atlas tracks your win-loss record, and revenge multipliers reward taking a road back.
Earn status
Seasons crown champions, weekly matchup points keep the table moving, and your territory shows in square kilometres on a 3D map.

Not just a tracker
Real-world rivalry
Atlas isn't another ride logger. It's a competitive layer on top of your real roads. Every road has an owner, rivals are detected automatically, and every ride is a chance to take what's theirs.
Atlas spots the riders you keep crossing paths with and tracks your head-to-head record.
Share a road with a rival and a 48-hour battle decides who keeps it.
Lose a road and taking it back is worth more. Loss streaks raise the stakes.
Your phone. Your cycling computer.
Leave the head unit at home.
Record your own rides in full GPS detail, get turn-by-turn navigation, load routes from the map or your library, and follow structured workouts as you ride. Atlas is the cycling computer in your pocket, and on your wrist with the Apple Watch app, without spending hundreds on a head unit.
Live recording & sensors
Distance, speed, power, heart rate, cadence and elevation on customisable data screens, with Bluetooth sensors, auto-pause and voice announcements.
Turn-by-turn navigation
Voice and on-screen prompts plus offline maps, so you can ride somewhere new without stopping to check your phone.
Live climbs & workouts
Gradient, distance to summit and time-to-PB on every climb, and structured workouts with a live timeline.
Apple Watch & widgets
Record from your Apple Watch, follow your ride on the lock screen and Dynamic Island, and keep rides, rivals and your club on iPhone widgets.
Routes
Every road. Every detail.
Every time.
Atlas tracks everything that matters about every route you ride. Wind direction, recommended kit, full elevation profile, climb data, café stops, your personal best and side-by-side comparisons against your own history and your rivals. Build new routes by dragging the line or asking the AI route builder.
Live wind direction on the route plus a kit recommendation, so you dress for what you're actually riding into.
See the full elevation profile, every categorised climb, and your time on each climb broken out.
Every attempt logged with weather, kit, power and PB. Compare any two rides side-by-side.
Describe the ride you want and Atlas builds it, with café stops, surface and hazards on the map and personalised pacing advice before you roll out.

Everything you need to know about Atlas
Strava tracks rides and ranks segments on an all-time leaderboard. Atlas turns your local roads into territory you actually own. Close a loop faster than anyone else and the roads inside it are yours for 45 days, until someone goes faster and takes them. Rivals are detected automatically, shared roads trigger 48-hour battles, there are no paid boosts, and only cycling rides count. It is built for riders who want real, ongoing competition rather than chasing decade-old segment records.
When you close a loop faster than anyone else, the roads inside it become your territory for 45 days. Any rider can challenge it at any time, and the moment someone beats you the territory switches hands. Claims start to decay after 30 days without a ride, and sharing a road with a rival opens a 48-hour battle for it. Nobody holds a road forever, and every ride is a chance to take what is someone else's.
Atlas estimates VO2 max continuously from your real ride data, including power, heart rate, cadence and elevation, rather than from a one-off test. We compare against established sub-maximal cycling protocols and update the estimate after every ride. In our internal testing it tracks within a few mL/kg/min of lab tests for trained cyclists, which is comparable to or better than the leading consumer cycling apps.
Atlas syncs automatically with Garmin, Wahoo, Hammerhead, COROS and Apple Health, records from the Apple Watch app, and pairs with Bluetooth heart rate, power and cadence sensors. You can also record rides directly from your iPhone with full GPS, power, heart rate, cadence and elevation, without a head unit. Routes you build in Atlas can be pushed to Wahoo, Hammerhead and COROS, or exported as GPX or FIT files.
No. Atlas works fully with just GPS and heart rate, including iPhone-only and Apple Watch rides. If you do have a power meter, Atlas will pull the data in automatically and use it for VO2 max, training status and ride analysis. The competitive features, claiming roads and defending territory, only depend on GPS, so anyone can compete.
Atlas is free to download and use: ride recording, one club, community rides and the Bike Garage cost nothing. Atlas Premium is £4.99 a month or £39.99 a year with a 30-day free trial, and unlocks club competition, leaderboards, the route library, offline maps, health intelligence and AI coaching. There is no pay-to-win: every rider competes on equal terms whatever they pay.
Yes. You can create a club inside Atlas, invite your riders, set a home territory and play as a team. The Atlas kit ships internationally from the UK.
Yes. The Atlas Apple Watch app records rides on its own, so you can leave your phone in a pocket or at home, and adds complications for a quick glance at your day. On iPhone, seven widgets plus configurable club widgets keep your rides, rivals and club on the home screen, and a Live Activity follows your ride on the lock screen and Dynamic Island.
Yes. Drag the line to reshape a route, or describe the ride you want and the AI route builder creates it. Public routes come with elevation, surface, hazards and café stops with reviews and photos, and Atlas builds a personal route library with PRs and goals as you ride.
